About Me

My name is Katelynn Anstey but most know me as Katelynn Wheeler. I'm a small town farm girl from Waterflow, New Mexico turned Oregonian who loves the mountains and coast. I moved to Albany 4 years ago where I'm now a full-time student and mom with a passion for marketing and anthropology. Right now, I balance school, parenting, and working in the service industry, which has taught me how to multitask, communicate with people, and think on my feet. While my current job outside of school is a barista, bartender, server, and social media manager at a restaurant in downtown Albany, I'm also an event planner for the Student Leadership Council here at LBCC! So, you might catch me at just about every event put on my student leadership or helping guide Rocky the Roadrunner around. 

Being that I've worked in marketing and social media positions, I thought it was best for me to learn more in these areas since I'd like to make a career out of it. I'm a communications major with an emphasis on marketing and will be taking as many marketing related classes as I can! I'm most interested in learning how to market anything to anyone. I know that it can be done because I've watched it happen and now I'm ready to learn how to do it on my own! Outside of college, I'm passionate about the outdoors. Hiking, running, swimming, camping, and traveling to see my family! I hiked South Sister last year and ran a 5k this year. I love taking my son to the park and watching his growing mind learn how to play on the equipment.
